The purpose of this policy is to explain how North County Bank protects and uses your personal information. Our goal is to serve you as effectively and conveniently as possible and to ensure that information you share with us remains confidential.

Your Protection Is Our Priority
Clearly stated policies in our employee handbook, background checks on all employees and thorough on-the-job training in confidentiality and customer privacy ensure that our employees are committed to keeping your personal information safe and secure.

Information We Gather
In order to provide financial products and services to you, protect your account from fraud, and comply with government regulations, we collect and maintain a range of customer data including "nonpublic personal information" from the following sources:
  • Information we receive from you on applications or other loan and account forms (such as your telephone and Social Security number)
  • Information about your transactions with us or others (such as your account balance, payment history, and overdraft history)
  • Information we receive from third parties (such as credit bureaus).
Information We Communicate
We are periodically required to disclose nonpublic information to third parties, such as credit reporting agencies, federal and state regulators, and loan investors, in order to do business with you.

We may also share information with companies that perform services on our behalf (such as vendors who prepare monthly statements, process checks, and provide support for one or more of our products or services.) These business partners contractually agree to keep your information confidential and not to use it for any other purpose.

We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about you to any third parties, except as permitted by law, and we require the third parties by contract to safeguard your personal and confidential information.

If you decide to close your account(s) or become an inactive customer, we will continue to adhere to North County Bank's privacy policies and practices.

Our Security Procedures
We also take steps to safeguard customer information. We restrict access to your personal and account information to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal and state standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.

North County Bank maintains security standards and procedures regarding unauthorized access to customer information that conforms to current regulatory and industry guidelines. We update and test our technology to improve the protection of our customer information and to protect the integrity of our information. We also ask you to closely review your account and loan statements and contact us right away if you believe that someone has improperly accessed financial information about you.

Maintaining the accuracy of your nonpublic personal information is very important. We have procedures to help assure that your personal information is accurate, current, and complete. We also have procedures to correct inaccurate information in a timely manner, including processes to update information or remove outdated information. If you discover any information we have about you that is incorrect, please let us know.
